Director, Quality & Compliance Systems (Aerospace)
About the Role
Monarch Space Systems seeks a Director of Quality & Compliance Systems to lead institutional quality management, process maturity, and compliance program development for aerospace and defense programs. This leader will establish and maintain quality systems aligned with ISO 9001:2015 and CMMI principles, develop Configuration Control Board (CCB) governance, oversee Independent Technical Review (ITR) processes, and build the institutional quality infrastructure required for prime contractor readiness and federal aerospace program execution. Primary location is Cleveland, Ohio.
Responsibilities
- Lead development and implementation of the institutional Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001:2015 and CMMI maturity principles for aerospace programs
- Establish and chair Configuration Control Board (CCB) and document control processes
- Develop and manage Independent Technical Review (ITR) and Capture Readiness Review (CRR) frameworks
- Lead internal audit program including audit planning, execution, corrective action, and management reporting
- Build and maintain Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA) systems and root cause analysis processes
- Oversee Knowledge Management and Lessons Learned programs across space systems programs
- Develop training and competency frameworks for quality system compliance
- Interface with government customers and prime contractors on quality plan development and compliance reviews
- Partner with COO on CMMC cybersecurity compliance integration and program quality oversight
- Support certification roadmap development toward formal ISO 9001 and CMMI appraisal
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field; Master's preferred
- 10+ years of quality systems leadership in aerospace, defense, or advanced technology
- Demonstrated experience building quality systems aligned with ISO 9001 or AS9100 in a government contractor environment
- Familiarity with CMMI process areas and maturity level development
- Experience with federal quality program requirements including AS9100, NASA quality standards, and DCAS oversight
- U.S. citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications
- ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or Six Sigma Black Belt
- Experience leading organizations through formal ISO 9001 or AS9100 certification
- CMMI appraisal experience (SCAMPI A or B participation)
- Background in safety and mission assurance programs for aerospace or defense systems
